The GI tract is made of trillions of bacteria that can provide benefit by producing healthy digestive byproducts like butyric acid.  Maintaining a healthy balance of “good” to “bad” bacteria can be helped by taking probiotics on a regular basis.

Dysbiosis is the term used to explain an overgrowth of this “bad” bacteria and other organisms inside the GI tract.  This microflora can be upset by various things such as: stress, medications (particularity antacids and antibiotics), lifestyle and allergies or food intolerances/sensitivities.
